More information about Hannah

As Hannah says in her own biography she was born on July 11, 1995 and lives in Central Texas. She started gymnastics at the age of 18 months old in the Mom and Tots Class at Texas Tumblers Gymnastics. We started Hannah in gymnastics for two reasons:

1.) For social interaction with other children her age as we do not live in a neighborhood with other children, and her siblings are considerably older then she is.

2.) To help with coordination and motor skills.

After she was involved in gymnastics it simply became a way of life for her. She cannot wait to get to the gym and start working out everyday. I don't think Hannah can imagine life without gymnastics. She is self driven and motivated. Her mother and I do not insist the she continue with gymnastics. Once in a great while when she looks tired we will try to pump her up to give her that little push, but it is very rare that she ever needs a push. Watching Hannah's motivation is very inspiring.

We believe that gymnastics has contributed greatly to Hannah's growth, maturity and health. She (as do all of the girls on her team) has great coordination and self-control. She has the ability to concentrate and accomplish something to the end. She has only missed 10 days of school since kindergarten (all but 4 meet related) and has consistently been on the "A"  or “AB” Honor Roll at her school. It amazes her mother and I that she can maintain high grades with her training schedule. Most school nights she does not get to bed before 10:30pm and never before 9:30pm after completing her homework. Hannah attended a Christian School through the fourth grade where she had homework every night except Wednesdays. Her fifth grade year she decided she wanted try public school and she seems to enjoy it, but misses, “not learning about Jesus”. She is now in the 7th grade and continues her outstanding work ethic. She has taken all Pre-AP classes for6th and 7th grade and continues her high grade average.

In addition to schoolwork and gymnastics training Hannah is very active in her church youth group. She is a very dedicated and hard working young girl with an intense desire to be the best she can be. In the 6th grade she enrolled in band to add the clarinet to the piano, guitar and recorder she already played. This year she is playing the oboe in the school band and the violin in the school orchestra. If i'm counting correctly she now plays 6 instruments. I've been told that she wants to learn the saxaphone now.

Hannah has an older sister, Diana (25), and an older brother, James (26). Diana lives in New York City and works for Abercrombie. James is a student at Texas Tech University studying Civil Engineering. Hannah's mother works for a military contractor and her Dad is an Instructional Technologist for the local school district, but is currently mobilized as a member of the US Army Reserves.

Hannah's pets consist of 1 cat named Hello Kitty (that keeps having kittens) and a yorkie named Hollie (can anyone guess who she named the yorkie after?)
